Illustrations for the novel ‘La Suerte de Carmen’, by the writer María Cañal Barrera, which recounts the entry into quarantine of Carmen, a single woman born into a traditional family, who urges her to find a partner and have offspring that perpetuate the tradition of naming the first of their daughters Carmen.
